If you're going to implement guards in ZA
by Nethaera | 25/10/2007 22:18:32![]() We are going to be implementing Guards outside Zul'Aman, but we are also going to be doing something else we haven't been able to do before. We are going to flag the area as contested where previously we were only able to flag an entire zone as such. This is something new that we will be able to do in more areas as we feel it's necessary. One such area that could also see a change (for instance) would be the area around Scarlet Monastery. |

Yes, that's a great idea especially since members of the Horde and Alliance regularly have to pass through there to get to the awesome new dungeon in the cellar of the Inn there.... Hey wait! No they don't! Seriously though, this change makes it a more even footing for both sides. If you're a lower level afraid of being killed for passing through there, then either avoid the area or get some friends together to escort you. Concerns for the effects this will have are understandable, but a bit over reactionary in this case. We'll continue to keep a close watch on it all. |

I understood what you are saying, however, your implication is that the contested area will stretch into areas in which lower level quests are going on. I don't believe the area we are talking about extends quite that far. We're basically talking about (from my understanding) the immediate area around it. We will of course be keeping a close eye on the impact this has for lower level questers since we don't want it to be overly disruptive. This will be implemented on the PTR as well for testing, and we will continue to watch it once the live realms are patched with it for any behaviors that weren't seen in the test realm. |

This would be a change that affects both PvE realms and PvP realms. |
