I Think I Got Hacked...
by Teth | 22/04/2010 04:53:26![]() I was suddenly logged off while doing Wintergrasp. I tried to log back in and it said the information wasn't valid. I tried to retrieve my password, but the site told me that my email-name combination didn't exist for some reason... |
by Orlyia | 22/04/2010 07:02:29![]() If you are referring to the account you are posting under, I'm not seeing any changes, Teth. This may be a case of simple mistyping one of the fields. I'd try again. If you still find you are having difficulties, certainly something we can check into further. You may wish to give Billing a ring on this - they could also assist in changing your email if that's what you'd wish to do. by Orlyia | 22/04/2010 08:04:21![]() This just doesn't look like a standard malicious compromise at this point, Teth. I also don't see them on at the moment. I'd give Billing a ring in the morning for assistance in changing your password, email and have them give this another look then. You may wish to do a security sweep of your system, just in case - and setup a new totally unrelated email to use with your WoW account. Battle.net has the advantage of that also changing your login. Sometimes those get caught by spam filters for some reason, Teth. I am terribly sorry if this caused you additional concern. It pays to be cautious - it's not paranoia when they really ARE out to get you :) In the case of WoW accounts - they are. It does concern me you didn't find the source. It's true an account can be compromised a LONG time before it's actually accessed - so it's possible another system could be the one that was infected. Email accounts can also become compromised, if they have a way in there - they just pluck out the information. Glad to see you have access again. If you have any further questions, please do let us know. Customer Service Forum Representative Authenticators! Take a bite (or two) out of crime! http://us.battle.net/security/ |
by Orlyia | 23/04/2010 10:15:11![]() Likely just another poor compromised player's account being pressed into service for other nefarious purposes. We do look into those types of things. They can run, they can't hide :) Customer Service Forum Representative Authenticators! Take a bite (or two) out of crime! http://us.battle.net/security/ |
