I have an issue with my WTF folder
by Petermn | 12/06/2007 17:03:42![]() Hi again, I've gone over the two files, and there are several extra settings in the first that are not in the second newer file. I will paste the extra lines below in groups, unfortunately there is nothing that I can say for certain would cause a problem so it will turn into trial and error to find what may be causing the problem. If you wish you can just copy all of the groups at once if you dont want to experiment. The first set are sound settings that are in the first, but not the second file, I do not believe these should be a problem but you can test them. The second list is general UI options, these shouldn't cause problems, but again you can test them. The third are video and system settings, these are the most likely to be the cause. SET soundMaxHardwareChannels "12" SET EnableSoundWhenGameIsInBG "1" SET SoundZoneMusicNoDelay "1" SET EnableMusic "0" SET cameraYawMoveSpeed "180" SET cameraYawSmoothSpeed "180" SET cameraDistanceMaxFactor "1" SET minimapZoom "0" SET minimapInsideZoom "0" SET ChatBubblesParty "1" SET UnitNameOwn "1" SET deselectOnClick "0" SET profanityFilter "0" SET UnitNameNPC "1" SET cameraBobbing "1" SET cameraView "4" SET mouseSpeed "1.5" SET gxResolution "800x600" SET pixelShaders "1" SET ffxGlow "0" SET DesktopGamma "1" SET timingMethod "1" SET shadowLevel "0" SET gxMaximize "1" SET showToolsUI "1" To add these, make sure the game is closed and open the Config.WTF in Wordpad once more, and add the lines to the end of the file, then save the file. Once this has been done, try the game once more. Something else to note. The new file has the display resolution set to 1024x768, putting the new line SET gxResolution "800x600" after the current line should reset it to the 800x600 resolution your older file uses. There is also a setting in the newer file: SET ffx "0" Which should not cause issues, however this is likely to be turning off effects that the third set of items may be turning on, you may wish to remove this line from the second config file to see if this changes anything. |
