Huge loss of framerate since 2.3

So after patch today I've gone into ZA and now Hyjal. My frame rate goes to 1 per 3-5 sec when fighting bosses which makes it simply unplayable.

I turned every video setting down to minimum, clicked/unlicked everything to increase performance, deleted all mods with the usual directories. Even updated my video card drivers.

None of these made any difference whatsoever.

I'm running WinXP (latest updates) with Nvidia 7950 1GB, 3GB memory, AMD FX-53 (2.4GHz) and until today pre-patch I've had everything on max/best quality running at 1680x1050 in window mode and I have never gone below 25FPS and have 35FPS on average.

I'm not sure what has changed in this patch regarding graphics but I cannot raid at the moment. Enabling things like The Beast Within simply pauses the screen for upto 5 seconds.

Any help would be appreciated,
On a long enough time line, the survival rate for everyone drops to zero.

Ok thanks for the reports everyone. Please do the following:

First disable (or better yet completely un-install) all your mods. As has already been mentioned un-updated mods can be the cause of this problem. If the issue does not occur without mods then you will want to check with the mod creators for updates.

If the problem continues please contact Technical Support, they can help determine if there are any technical problems that could be causing this type of behavior.
