Goblins+Worgen=Separating Population mechanic
by Migol | 07/10/2009 01:06:28![]() Just thinking about it; Goblins and Worgen aren't actually adding much new in on their own like Death Knights did; both take existing models, use existing class abilities, and get a bit of prettying up in terms of a starting area w/quests and such. But there's no real "point" to them. Loony theory here, or maybe not-so-loony: Blizzard lamented bringing everyone and their uncle to Hellfire peninsula at the start of TBC. They tried to separate us into other places in Northrend and servers still had trouble, there weren't enough quest mobs, etc. So...are Goblins+Worgen a clever tactic to further separate out where the population is on servers on launch week? |

We kind of learned the lesson with Hellfire Peninsula and that was why we made two "starting" zones for Northrend to help spread players out. The new races will help in this too, kind of like how a bunch of people went straight to making a deathknight, but that isn't the primary goal of adding the new races. Shark. |

Unfortunately the only answer we have is the same one I have given to this question. We won't know for sure until we are much closer to the launch of the next expansion. We will probably want to see how the system (that isn't out yet) works out and then figure things out for the expansion. I would guess that transfers would be available at some point but probably not right away. Shark. |

But it will be ready soon. It just depends on your definition. ;-) Shark. |
