FPS drops randomly to 9 then resumes

Problem: So WoW used to play great and i get between 30-40 FPS after tweaking settings and my graphics card. But lately (since i've reached Northrend it seems) my FPS will randomly drop to 9 or lower frames for 5-15 seconds and then jump up to 30-40 frames again. Sometimes it only happens every 10 minutes or so but lately it's been as frequent as every 1-2 minutes.

Attempted Solutions: All my mods are up to date. I've tried updating all my drivers via Windows Vista Device Manager and it reports they are all up to date. I've eliminated nearly every background run program I can. Windows Task Manager does not show any spikes with my computer idleing. I've downloaded and run the DPC Latency checker and that does indeed show spikes but they are inconsistent in timing and location.

I will post the direct X diag txt below.

Hi Avvia,

Odd spikes in DPC Latency Checker usually means you have a bad driver somewhere (it isn't able to pinpoint it), power management or overheating. For a laptop, the last two are more likely. For a desktop, the first one is more likely. Have you tried cleaning the internal heatsink and fans? Using an aircan on the vents while the laptop is off can help dislodge stuff but using an aircan after popping off the top keyboard tends to be a bit better.
