I will quit the game if blizzard does not fix this. I did not spend 5k on a mount so that I could only use it in a part of the world that is going to be obsolete. There is absolutely no reason not to have flying mounts throughout the world of warcraft. There is nothing pre-BC that you could reach with a flying mount that really doesn't need to be reached, and there is no reason not to design the new content to be flier friendly.

Please remove your collective head from your collective anal cavity blizzard, and L2continuity. As things stand there is no explaination at all for why my mount doesn't work in Azeroth. I have the flying skill, and there are flying mounts in Azeroth for the flight paths. Why will my mount, which is the same thing i pay a taxi service for, not work? If you are worried about people flying from continent to continent, make one of your infamous invisible barriers. Or better, make a swirling cloud of gas that you get completely lost in and start getting buffeted about by high winds causing your mount to become exausted and drop you in the ocean to drown if you do not turn back.

Christ, it should not be that hard to figure out.

If you're worried about the "unfairness" of flying mounts for ganking purposes . . . . Well, what about the unfairness of ganking at all? So the lowbies need to learn to look up a few levels earlier. If anything it'll be good practice for HFP.

This is something we’d like to implement at some point but have no current plans to do so. Right now we are focused instead on brand new content in Wrath of the Lich King where we plan to allow flying mounts as well once your characters reaches a certain, though currently undefined, point.

You probably get this alot but look at it from a customers point of view, having to spend 5000 hard earned gold and the time and dedication it takes to get that much its got to be a let down that you will not be able to use the flying mount it in a place you will be for probably the rest of the game. I hope that you can get to it within the first or part of the release of Wraith of the Witch King.

We plan to allow the use of flying mounts in Northrend at some point, just not right away at level 70. The areas where the flying mounts can't be used for the foreseeable future are Kalimdor and Eastern Kingdoms.
