Failed to apply patch - FOR MAC

by Powsers | 02/03/2010 19:48:06

Powsers

Hi guys, I'm having the same problem as many of the PC users this morning. Unfortunately, your recommendations of right clicking on the launcher and "running as administrator" does not work. Is there another way to do this on a Mac?

Also, stop please stop directing people to the manual patch download as it does NOT have today's hot-fix patch.

Thanks.

Hi Powsers,

You're currently on the PC forums. Steps here will not apply to you. You'll want to make sure that you have write access on the World of Warcraft folder and that you're logged onto an account with write access there. I'll move you over to the Mac forums.

Hello Powsers,

It's just a tools update, but if you are having issues with it, first off make sure you are starting the game through the World of Warcraft Launcher.app and not the game directly. Also if you moved the game recently please let me know, and finally try the following:

1. Select the World of Warcraft folder
2. press Command + i
3. in the World of Warcraft Info box, go to the Sharing & Permissions section
4. click on the lock and unlock it
5. make sure you have Read & Write permissions
6. click on the Burst icon ( cog wheel ) and select Apply to enclosed items**

** If using Mac OS 10.4.11, just click on the Apply to Enclosed items button.
