Exploitation of the Economy while hacked
by Hasashoe | 09/09/2008 01:17:31![]() I recently had a seroius problem with a hacker. Due to faulty security (Norton Antivirus) I was hacked numerous times. (I'm currently using a trial account to post this). But recently I was permenantly banned for ' Exploitation of the World of Warcraft Economy', I however have never bought gold, nor farmed it. But during my 'hacked' duration, I got a 3-day suspension for the above reason. At the time, I did not know what it meant, so I disregarded it. After awhile of being hacked, I gave up and left my account in a sort of limbo/banned state while I wiped my hard drive. Thus successfull, I rejoiced, reinstalled World of Warcraft, and opened up my email to find that I was now permanently banned for exploiting the economy. I know the reason (my hacker decided to mess up my account permanently too) and I sent an email to Account Administration, but what I would like to know of what my odds are of getting my account unlocked. By the way Blizzard had a clear view that my account was comprimised during the time of my hacking problem. Also, a number of blue/green items showed up in my inventory after an attack. What are my odds? Am i doomed to start anew, or do i have an offchance of regaining some semblance of my former account back? (I did buy Zonealarm Forcefield, which is endorsed by blizzard, but without any success of securing my account.) |

Our Account Administration department tends to be pretty good at finding evidence like that, so I wouldn't worry, all things being equal. Best of luck, and let us know if you run into any snags along the way. Game Master ♈ In-Game Support Oh, Father Dagon smiles upon me from the bas-relief And something's fishy down at Devil's Reef |
