So I was using the download client available on the Blizzard site to install WoW on my laptop.

Vanilla WoW and Burning Crusade both went through without a hitch, however when I got WotLK I get to about 44% and then all of a sudden it starts asking for a CD.

I've tried reinstalling, deleting and starting over, same issue, at about 44% into the installation it suddenly asks for me to insert the CD.

When I cancel out of it it says an error occured, that the CD may be scratched or dirty (of course I'm not using a CD) and the installation stops.

Any suggestions?

This may happen if you downloaded some bad data and it's stuck on your Installer Tome file. Try exiting the installer, open the World of Warcraft Installer folder from your desktop and delete everything inside. Once gone, try running the installer again.
