Eng Pet Levels (Intended or Not?)

In the recent update of 2.4 several engineers have reported that their pets have no longer reflected the level of the eng's skill.

Examples:
375 Eng Before Patch 2.4
-Battle Chicken (lvl72)
-Mithril Dragonling (lvl72)
-Arcanite Dragonling (lvl72)

375 Eng AfterPatch 2.4
-Battle Chicken (lvl40)
-Mithril Dragonling (lvl40)
-Arcanite Dragonling (lvl50)

Before this patch these pets would level base off the eng's skill, now they seem to be based off the level of the item when it is first available. While I may not know if every engineer is concerned with this subject I would like to inform you of it.

My question to the Dev's and CM's is if this was intended as a change or was this a bug caused by your fix to Item Spells?

Q u o t e:
Item Cast Spells: Many spells cast by items were being cast as if the caster were the same level as the item. Most of those will now be cast at the player’s level, giving them a reasonable chance to miss, be dispelled, or be resisted

Any response from a Blizzard representative will be grateful thank you.

This was an intended change. These items were never meant to level so high. Their level is now fixed and their cooldown reduced as partial compensation.

As I've said so many times before, This is not a bug and further discussion on this forum will get no responses. Please move your suggestions to the suggestion forum where they will be seen by the appropriate people.
