Having only played the Warrior and Priest class, both Horde, l want to try out an Alliance side Shammy. l was thinking about going elemental, the thought of playing around with lighting seems like a lot of fun. Though, all l here about are enhan. and resto Shammies; l don't even know an elemental Shammy. So l was just wondering why there are so few (is it a bad spec?) and if that route is worth going down?

Well, I've heard a lot of people say they don't like it because it revolves a lot around one function, which is spamming lightning bolt. It tends to lend itself to raiding situations as a dps caster.

Friend of mine, who never liked Enhancement that much, is currently stacking spell damage and mana/5 and seeing some fairly large crits. With his spec, he's also helping out his mana regen, so the sustainability is getting better.

But, yeah...just opinion. ;)
