I'm familiar with the idea. There's rare few novels I'll actually recommend openly—Sabriel by Garth Nix, American Gods by Neil Gaiman, and Kushiel's Dart by Jacqueline Carey. And, of course, A Song of Fire and Ice in its entirety, but most folk I know have already broached that series. :) I'll have to pick it up. I'm cruising through the Sin War trilogy at the moment, so I'll be sated for a bit. Perhaps I can take my time so that the next'll be out (or closer to it) once I finish. Is there a slated date? |

What kind? The ones full of ripped bodices and long-haired men? Or perhaps the more subtle, slighty twisted forms? Romantic comedies, maybe? The Time Traveler's Wife is an amazing tale of romance. Also, if you're willing to read Sci-Fi/Fantasy, even a more Youth-based work, Shade's Children by Garth Nix has (surprisingly) one of the most subtle, sweet, and unconventional romances I've ever read. Most don't even notice it there, though. =/ |

Neither. I have one P. Craig Russell adaptation (The Jewels of Gwahlur, absolutely fantastic) and all of the Dark Horse comic TPBs by Cary Nord and Kurt Busiek. Both are very faithful, and some of it is even word-for-word from Howard's texts. I like how you can tell that Howard and Lovecraft were contemporaries. |
