Critical Err. logging back into Beta
by Geistekrank | 30/07/2008 23:33:56![]() I wasn't able to post here a couple days ago so I started the thread in the Live Mac Tech forums but it seems I can not post here so here it goes. http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=8429985861&s id=1 This has happened 3 times so far. The first time was just inside the Nexus instance, I disconnected and when I log back in I select my shaman and the game loads fully. Once it finishes loading it auto-crashes to my desktop with a critical error. I contacted a GM and he moved my shaman to Shat and I was able to log in after that. The second time I was exploring the Dragonblight zone and again I disconnect. I go to log back in and after fully loading I get the same auto-crash to desktop with the same critical error. I again contacted a GM and again them moved me to shat, however this time I was still unable to log onto my shaman. The GM suggested I turn off "Full-Screen Glow Effects" and once I did I was able to log back in. The third time I disconnected in Org and met the same critical error and I am in the process of contacting a GM again but I think I am running out of luck to get my character unstuck. So far it has only happened on my shaman and I run the same video setting on all my characters. 2 of the 3 disconnects happened in a snowy zone. 2 of the 3 disconnects happened while I was mounted. -----Edit----- The error log listed in the other thread from Hellous looks exactly like mine when I get the Critical Error. by Radoslawn | 06/08/2008 16:09:39![]() Evening Geistekrank, Try the following since it sounds like a corrupted IP connection, and yes it usually sticks to the one toon that had issues in the first place, it gets ugly. 1. Delete the cache folder ( good to do anytime there's a random disconnect or game crash ) 2. flush the DNS cache 3. try the toon - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - The flush the DNS cache, go into the Terminal (Go > Utilities > Terminal) and type in the following: For Leopard (10.5): dscacheutil -flushcache - press Return For Tiger (10.4) and Panther (10.3): lookupd -flushcache - press Return ( The system will not give any type of acknowledgment after you run the command. ) Try the game after performing these commands. Let me know how I'm doing... https://www.surveymk.com/s.aspx?sm=OXrtw1WfuVlU_2fd_2bJQf0JSg_3d_3d |
by Radoslawn | 07/08/2008 14:52:26![]() Evening Geistekrank, You're totally right. Two very different computers at different locations with same issue with one toon, has to be something with the toon itself. Let's get a GM to reset the character... You'll need to open a GM ( Game Master ) ticket. Log into any other character that is working or create a new one, and, while in the game... 1. click on the red ? (Help Request) button 2. click on the Talk to a GM button 3. click on the Open Ticket button In the "Describe Your Issue:" section: Type: Realm Name: the name of your realm Character Name: the name of your character Issue: your issue ( example. this is the only character that will not load, on two different computers running different OS's and at two different locations, please reset by moving slightly from present position ) Keep me up to date, as to what happens, please. Let me know how I'm doing... https://www.surveymk.com/s.aspx?sm=OXrtw1WfuVlU_2fd_2bJQf0JSg_3d_3d |
