Considering quitting wow because of bots
by Decaboy | 11/03/2010 04:53:38![]() I'm so tired of all the cheating going on in the battlegrounds. I basically play wow for BG's and it's really taken the fun out of it. Thinking it's best to perhaps consider playing another online game instead of wow as blizzard really don't do anything to stop the botting. All they do is watch them for a while, then on the odd occasion, give someone a warning letter. They need to set up battlegrounds to encouarge *participation*, so that if you don't do things during the game then you get no honor and no token, this would stop people's use of bots as they wouldn't have any purpose. Here are 2 examples of todays bots in strand of ancients: <removed> racking up thousands of free honor points and tokens as we lose each game because of them. I'm guessing that blizzard doesn't want to ban botters because botters are paying customers. Blizzard needs to instant ban all botters, delete their accounts. No warnings, nothing. Just a ban with no recourse and thats it. So tired of blizzard being soft on botters. [ Post edited by Orlyia ] |

What you suspect is simply incorrect, I'm afraid. This is particularly because bots may be characters from compromised accounts that have been used by malicious parties. If you happen to see that character's name again later, it isn't necessarily indicative that nothing was done. In addition, if identifying and eliminating these issues were as simple or swift as in your example, wouldn't it make sense that we'd have already done so long ago? We invest considerable effort and resources in combating these influences within World of Warcraft, but it is a constant and ongoing process and quite far from simple. What you have heard about long term investigations is absolutely true. Research regarding these third party programs is necessary, and we will continue to employ information gathering techniques that will not only help limit and remove botters from World of Warcraft, but also prevent innocent players from being caught in the net. We certainly do not enable exploitative practices. >=( [ Post edited by Malkorix ] D'ye like dags? Sure, you like dogs! Protect your account and get a cute core hound companion too!
