Can't get passed connecting...

Bought a Mac a few months back, and installed and patched. Everything has gone smoothly and what not, until i try to log in. It gets stuck at "connecting" and it doesn't move from there. I've tried two diff routers, even a friends where he is actively playing right now, so there shouldn't be any port forwarding problems. Idk what else to try. Any help?? Thanks

Hello Soliduz,

Try resetting PRAM instead.

Reset PRAM:

(Note: in order for this procedure to work the sound must be working normally and not muted)

1. (re)start the computer
2. right after the initial system chime press Opt+command (Apple)+p+r
3. hold these keys down until you get two more chimes
4. let go of the keys and let the system boot up naturally (do not press any keys)

( If sound is not an option: press the keys stated above right after the (re)start,
and instead of listening for the 2 chimes, the screen will flash white 2 times.)

Since you tried to connect via your friend's active connection, we need to concentrate on your Mac. Were you trying to connect using a wireless connection or wired ?

Hello Soliduz,

At least we know the Mac is fine, just need to figure out why the wireless connection is bombing. Anything in-between the Mac and the wireless router ? Any electronics including:

- walkie talkies
- cordless telephones running at 2.4GHz or higher
- baby monitors
- cell phones
- microwave ovens (have to be on)
- boxes of paper**
- radio transmitters/scanners

**The three worst materials that a Wi-Fi signal will not pass through: Concrete, Bullet Proof Glass and Paper Reams (that paper box I talked about)

Hello Soliduz,

Either the settings or a lose wire, which has been known to happen from time to time.

Since I can't see your settings let me know what you find out.
