Brewfest Hotfixes - 10/09
by Drysc | 04/10/2007 04:05:49 We've recently applied a number of hotfixes for the new Brewfest holiday event. As we’ve seen a large number of issues stem from the Dark Iron attacks on Brewfest, both for our players and the game service, they have been temporarily disabled. At this time we’re still in the process of evaluating the situation and developing a better solution; however we hope to see the Dark Iron dwarves resume their attacks as soon as possible. Until then we’ve increased the ticket rewards for the daily "Bark For..." quests from 15 to 40 tickets, and for the keg delivery quest which can be completed every 12 hours we've increase the value of each keg to 3 tickets. This still allows everyone to gain tickets at a rate comparable to what we intended the average player to be able to achieve before the Dark Iron attacks were disabled. For some players, especially on realms where tickets from the attacks were difficult to achieve, the amount of tickets received per-day could actually be increased. As the Dark Iron attacks have stopped, we’re removing the ability to obtain a “Complimentary Brewfest Sampler” by /waving at Brewfest barkers and maidens (this hotfix will be applied soon). This will remain disabled and should the attacks begin again the samplers will be obtained through alternate means. We’ve also hotfixed the Brewfest goggles to remove their duration. They are now permanent! The duration timer will continue to show until the next patch, but it will not affect the permanence of the goggles. Players may experience issues being able to see/accept the barker quests if they currently have a "failed" quest in their quest log. If you've been unable to begin the barker quests please ensure you abandon any failed quests in your quest log. This may be specific to the quest "A Little Help From My Friends" from Un'Goro Crater, however we are still investigating. FAQ Q: I can't see/accept the Pink Elekk quest. A: You must have Burning Crusade installed, and your account upgraded in order to accept and complete this quest. Q: Is the Pink Elekk quest repeatable? A: No. There are some cases where players were able to repeat this quest once due to a reset, but the quest is not a daily quest or otherwise intended to be repeated. The only repeatable quests are the keg delivery quests able to be accepted every 12 hours, or the daily barker quest. Q: When will the Dark Irons begin their attack again? A: They have successfully been driven back for the remainder of this year's Brewfest holiday, but we've intercepted communique being transferred within their spy network, and they are recouping their losses with plans to return next year with an even greater presence. |

Being unable to reproduce the issue thus far we're continuing to look into the cause, and looking forward to the rolling restarts scheduled for tonight at 5:00 AM PDT to see if that resolves the problem. Of course ensure you are on the provided riding ram while near the flag points. No emotes or other actions are required. |

That is working as intended. You can only bark for one brewer a day. |

Did you do it already? If not, do you have the expansion? As you need to go to Eversong or Azuremyst, it's an expansion-only quest. |

You were told incorrectly; it is not repeatable. There was a one-time reset to allow people who were unable to get it previously to receive it. |

| by Drysc | 05/10/2007 02:15:42 The commands have been re-run on a select number of realms, please try the barker quests again and see if you get credit at each flag stop. Please let us know if you have any further issues. If you're unable to see/accept the quest at all please ensure you haven't already done the quest today. Open your quest log and look to see if it lists "Daily 1/10" in the upper right. If it does you've done probably done the quest "today" and will need to wait until the reset time which is approximately 3AM PDT. |

There's only one, it's just offered by multiple NPCs. It is a repeatable daily quest though. |

Were you on the ram? You need to be on the ram in order to get credit for the barking. |

This sounds like it's working properly, then. The Pink Elekk quest is not repeatable, and you can only do one Bark quest per day. |

Have you ever heard that quote about some things being 10% inspiration and 90% perspiration? ;) There are many ways to change the Dark Iron attack; we are not short on ideas. However, we are limited on what we can hotfix. Not everything can be changed, and what can be changed can't necessarily be so very quickly. We're working on it. |
