Blue, The problem I see with the merge

Is getting it to except and older account e-mail or current World of Warcraft e-mail under account management. The system will not let you use the same email it will return the error "email is is in use" So in order so create the Bnet account you have to come up with a different e-mail then the one you are currently using to recieve mail :/

It really is confusing to say the least! After calling my ISP and adding another email I was able to create the bnet account, merge and play the game. But for some strange reason the log in password reverted back to one I had changed yesterday 0_o Now I have a different password to log on to Bnet and a different one to log into game 0_o

I'm to the point were I dont want to touch anything as it all seems a bit sloppy at best!

Correction the password reverted back to an older one I had been using for years, now works ON BOTH game and bnet logins. go figure?

Hi Stelly,

The Battle.net system doesn't see World of Warcraft registered email addresses. The only thing that the Battle.net system sees is your old Blizzard Store account. If you ever get the message that says your email address is currently being used, you probably set up something in the past and forgot about it, or your browser timed out while trying to make a current one. Your best bet is to call Billing to see if they can dig up that email address for you to use.

We haven't had any reports of the system reverting you back to an older email address but we can keep an eye on it.

The first part is only really an issue if you haven't taken a typing class or learned to type fast. The amount of characters is trivial for most folks. You can also tell the game to remember your username so that you don't have to type in the email address, and that the accounts will be available as a dropdown menu on the login window.

The second one is more of an issue but we recommend safeguarding your accounts so that it doesn't get hacked in the first place. If something on your computer is grabbing your account data, all the account names are stored in the WTF folder so it's just easy reading. All they need you to do is to log onto the accounts for the password data. Who knows what else they're logging on the computer as well. Emails, online shopping and surfing habits and online banking are all possibilities when the computer is compromised. World of Warcraft would be the last thing you want to think about.
