Blue Screen of death after changing drivers
| by Catalyst | 24/03/2007 02:10:47 Recently, my game has gone through a variety of problems. Here are my specs: Pentium 4 2.00 GHz 1.00 GB of Ram Nvidia Geforce FX 5500 First, while using 91.47 drivers, it was suffering from lag and rendering problems. I switched to the newest drivers, 93.71, to get even worse lag, making it completely unplayable. I asked here what I should do, and I was told to switch back to older drivers, 66.93, which seemed to work for a while. Now I am suffering blue screen crashes with nv4_disp.dll to blame. I checked here and tried turning off trilinear filtering which did not work. From what I have noticed, the game really only crashes when I am taking a flying mount between towns. Hopefully, someone can help me. I am really stuck. |
| by Datth | 24/03/2007 02:22:43 Hi Catalyst, What type of crash did you get? A good handful of nv4_disp.dll crashes may happen if your motherboard chipset drivers are not updated. Did you try updating those? If you don't know what chipset you have, you may want to look up your motherboard model to see if you can find it. You can also try the 71.84 drivers as those have worked well for some people. |
