I have tried to complete the quest: The Opening of the Dark Portal two times now with the same
result, a bugged NPC (Medivh) who will not speak to me.All of the waves and bosses were cleared and other members of my group were able to complete the quest with no problems but Medvih would not speak to me after the gate was opened and Sa'at still had a grey '?" over his head. My quest log did not say the quest was completed or failed. During the battles I did not die, get DC'ed or leave the instance. This was the case for both of my attempts. On a side note, on my 1st attempt to complete this quest I was able to complete the Kara Key quest for the Master's Key.

Is there any way to correct this? Is this a known bug or is it only happening to my toon?



FYI:
I "attempted" to get help from an Extremely Incompetent GM named [removed], who throughout
the entire conversation used canned answers that did not pertain to the situation at all, such as
"I am sorry but we cannot give hints to quests...etc..etc...." or "we cannot discuss game mechanics"!!!
What hints? All I asked was for help resolving the problem. This GM was also not familiar at all
with the game or instance. Tehlyrian also refused to escalate my complaint and refer me to
an Account Specialist which I believe that I had a right to ask for since the same thing happened
on the same quest 2x! I wanted an Account Specialist to make sure that my account was not
corrupted in any way, but the only answers that I received were canned ones from Tehlyrian
telling me to "check the forums".


So here I am asking for help to resolve this matter. Thanks.


A warning to anyone who asks for GM help and is as unfortunate as I was to be connected to
Tehlyrian ask for your ticket to be transfered to another GM or write a new ticket.

I'm not sure what happened there but not being able to complete a quest is beyond our (Technical Support) help since we cannot view or change in-game data. If the GM isn't able to help you, try either re-petitioning or try dropping the quest and pick it back up with Sa'at. I'm not even sure how I can complete the quest if your first try didn't work. We got through all 18 (bear tank died on the second wave) and got some in-between resurrections in and died at the final boss. We ran back expecting a reset and the final boss was sitting there *still* draining the shield off of Medivh. We got him down with Medivh's shield being at 10% left expecting it to bug out but it still worked. All of us finished the quest and were sent to Khadgar.

I'm not sure as we do not keep an eye on in-game events or deal with accounts. I'll move you over to the Customer Service forum.
