Hello, i would like to start this by saying that this is not my account, it is my friends.

I received a email to my registered battle.net email address that said that my account was under a 24 hour ban because of suspected spyware or key logger's on the computer that i am using to play wow on. However i haven't played wow since February of this year because my computer had crashed.

This isn't the first time this has happened to me, my account has been hacked before and i recently got it sorted out and got my account back but haven't been able to play. What could be the cause of the ban?

I know it one of those fake emails you get from the phisher's, because my account is actually banned.

Once the ban is lifted, i am going to change my registered email and password to assure my safety, but i would hate to get banned because of a hacker.

You really shouldn't be posting on your friends account.

Presuming that email IS legitimate (and it may easily be a phish), that type of email indicates that we've detected malware on the system being used. Posting on such a system can also compromise THAT account - I'd recommend immediately scanning and changing the password.

If you can give me a character name/realm on the account in question - I can look further.
