Authenticator/switching phones
by Iorwen | 30/03/2010 18:05:32![]() Ive checked the authenticator pages and cant find any info there so im hoping i can get help here. i have the authernticator on my account using my phone. im getting a new phone this weekend and need to know how to switch the authenticator setup to my new phone. from what i've read - i'd have to delete the authenticator from my account, add/set up with new phone, then re-add authenticator to account (using acct management). is that correct? is there a simplier way that doesnt invovle my account going without protection? if this info is posted somewhere and i missed it, i'd appreciate a link. thanks for time/help :) |

You can't have two authenticators at once on an account, and there isn't a transition state so you'll have to remove it and put the new one on. Remember to write down the new phone's authentication serial number so that if anything happens to the phone, our Billing guys can help you.
