Authenticator Removal Request FAQ
by Davidedl | 08/05/2010 19:01:58![]() We understand that you would like this issue handled as soon as possible, but please only post in one thread. There are a lot of posts that the forum reps have to go through, not just authenticator posts, but also technical related posts. Posting in multiple threads will not get the issue resolved quicker, if anything it slows us down because there are more posts to sort through. Posting in multiple threads about the same issue can get you temp banned from the forums and your issue will not be resolved. Please let me know how I'm doing by following this link: https://www.surveymk.com/s/DQBHGPY I'm on the forums Saturday to Wednesday from 6am to 2:15pm pacific standard time. |

You will want to make sure the system is secure and email and battle.net account passwords are changed before logging into the account again. Here's a link to our security site with more information on securing your system and account: http://us.battle.net/security/ 2. How do I get an Authenticator that I did not attach to my Battle.net account removed? All you need to do is start a new thread. Let us know that there is an unauthorized authenticator on the account that you are posting from and that you would like it removed. When we get to your post we will have a Billing and Accounts rep look into the issue and remove it if possible. We will notify you on the forums when the authenticator has been removed. 3. Will posting in multiple threads about the same issue or bumping my thread every 5 minutes resolve my issue faster? No, this will actually clutter the forums. Cluttering the forums will slow down the removal process because it creates unnecessary posts for us to sort through. Also, constant bumping will cause for the account to get temp banned from the forums for spamming and you will have to call in to get authenticator issue resolved. 4. Can I post from a friend or family members account to have the authenticator removed from my own account? No, we can only remove an authenticator from a compromised account if you are able to post from the affected account. If you can't post on the forums you will need to contact the Billing and Accounts department via phone or email. Billing representatives are on hand to take your call 7 days a week between 8am to 8pm PST, at 1-800-59-BLIZZARD (800-592-5499). Customers in Australia should call 1-800-041-378. Our Billing team will be happy to assist you with any billing related questions. You may also contact them via email at Billing@Blizzard.com. 5. Can you remove an authenticator from my account if I added the authenticator to my Battle.net account, but I reset my cell phone or the authenticator is locked, and the authenticator has stopped working? No, we can only assist on the forums with accounts that were compromised and the authenticator was added to your account without your permission. For this issue you will need to contact the Billing and Accounts department via phone or email. The contact information is in question 4. 6. Once I get the authenticator removed, what do I do if I am missing characters or items when I log in? An unauthorized authenticator on the account usually indicates that the account was compromised/hacked. There is a good chance that you may be missing some items, characters, or gold when you regain access to the account. To get these restored you will want to open an in-game ticket with a GM.
