Account Banned
| by Conflagrate | 18/03/2007 00:38:36 My brother's account was recently hacked and all the gold on his main was taken and all his gear sold. However, the password on the account was not changed. He has quite a few alts but only the main was troubled. For some strange reason they hadn't changed the password so when he logged on Friday morning he changed the passwords quickly, ran numerous checks on his computer security and even went so far as to reformat. However, upon notifying Blizzard the account was immediately banned. Now I understand that this may be standard policy but is there not some better way of doing this? E-mails were sent requesting an update but to date there has been nothing out of Blizzard but the standard form letter. His character is Kanai on Uldum. |
| by Syndri | 18/03/2007 02:41:19 We often lock accounts to prevent further compromise, Conflagrate; unfortunately, sometimes this may occur after an owner has successfully regained access to his or her account after the compromise has taken place. While perhaps an inconvenience, it is for the ultimate safety of the account. Your brother will need to contact Account Administration, friend, and dispute the closure by noting that he believes his account to have been compromised. Our representatives will take this information into consideration and work to rectify the situation given the evidence found.
