Can you tell us if increasing the amount of buffering helps - type this in chat:

/console Sound_DSPBufferSize 8

then relaunch the game.

The use hardware sound is really bad. It degrades your sound even more than the software sound.

Its not a viable option. But the sound distortion should be happening to more than just me. I can just keep remounting over and over and every so often i'll get the distorted mount sound. Easy to reproduce though.

The mount sound i'm talking about is not the sound your mount makes right as you mount. But the sound of the mount being casted. Before the bar goes to full stop and mount again till you hear the sound goes distorted.
