Blizz, I absolutely love Cataclysm, I love the beta and I loved the alpha too. Going through the hold world and seeing the sheer scale of the changes and the care shown is truly impressive, but there is one thing, one change, that severely irks me: Stormwind is now the capitol of the alliance. Before I go any further I would just like to establish that I haven't really done much horde side and so I can only speak from the perspective of the alliance, but I imagine the situation is much the same on the horde side.
Stormwind has all the daily quests, most of the travel hubs, and is the only city to receive any significant expansion. Don't get me wrong, Stormwind is a very pretty, navigable, and all-around well designed city, but to be perfectly honest I can't say I like the idea of it being my only viable choice for a city come Cataclysm. While the pseudo-medieval architecture is nice, to me it does not compare to the serene grace of Darnassus, or the grand edifices of Ironforge at all. Despite that though, both of those very interesting cities are, with some small changes, identical to their original conception, and being made irrelevant due to the aforementioned Stormwind exclusive transportation options and daily quests.
The factions that make up the alliance are all interesting to me, but the thing is that it's supposed to be just that an alliance, not "Stormwind and company", or at least it was until Varian showed up. I like Ironforge, I like the music, I like the atmosphere, and I like the architecture, and it bothers me that it's not getting any of the exciting changes and expansions gracing the new chosen hub. If I wanted to have to make Stormwind my home point I would have rolled a human, cause I definitely didn't go dwarf for the racials.
So, as I step off my soap box, I'll sum up: Please, I ask you now, give Ironforge and Darnassus, and maybe even the Exodar* the same treatment you gave Stormwind.

*Yes, I know not to hold my breath for this one in particular.

We always have to make a balance between what we'd love to do and what is realistic to do. Because of this, Stormwind is currently where our focus has been, so far, for the version of Cataclysm you're currently accessing. It is however relatively easy to access the other cities via the standard transport methods, should you prefer to do so. Also at least for now, you can still have your hearthstone in Dalaran or Shattrath which allows you swift access to all Alliance capital cities.
