A little annoyed by GM response
by Nitric | 15/06/2007 11:04:25![]() I've already emailed this note to the feedback address a few minutes ago, but I wanted to vent for a non-automated response here. I'm just curious as to how fast we need to respond when a GM is trying to get our attention in-game? I obviously didn't respond to him/her fast enough (it couldn't have been more than 2 minutes). I wasn't going to argue with the GM in-game, nothing good would have come to either of us from it. This may be a small infraction, but it does push me up the "penalty volcano" and it irks me just a bit. I received a warning from GM xxxxx--I hope that is the correct name, I'm trying to get it from my screenshot. I know all about the rules of not using third party utilities to stop from being AFK, but that was what he infered that I was doing. I also know that it's frowned upon to be in a battleground and not participate, but from all I've ever read in the Customer Service forums, it's not against Blizzard's rules. However when I get beeped for server issues, I won't be at the keyboard to instantly respond to every message. I didn't have the game minimized, it's on a seperate computer/screen, and I didn't see his first message (it rolled off the screen with battlegrounds chat). I know that 1-2 of the people in the battleground were speaking of reporting me for not participating, fair enough (even though I responded to one of them in raid chat). The GM in question may want to choose his words differently than some he used. Saying that he talked to a supervisor and they decided not to suspend my account and infering that I was using some keyboard tool was just a little too heavy handed. And no, this account has no infractions against it. The only time I've been involved with GMs has been reporting other folks or spammers. I'm not saying he was uncourteous or wrong, just a bit much in the finger pointing direction. And yes, I had to hit jump a few times in the battleground while I'm writing this just to stay in the game. |
by Berghe | 15/06/2007 11:14:19![]() Nitric, no action was taken against your account - you talked to the Game Master that contacted you with a concern regarding the possibility of your character not being actively attended in a Battleground match. If you feel that the interaction you had with the Game Master you encountered was not appropriate then the proper contact is the wowgmfeedback-us@blizzard.com address, I'm afraid there is no direct assistance we're able to provide for that here on the forums. |
