3.3.5 FPS Issues

Ok I realize that Blizzard's employee's are very busy and have to deal with a lot of customers and their issues, but this is getting to be ridiculous. If you just scroll down and see all of the people having FPS issues, you can see that their is some serious problem with the patch, and if that wasn't bad enough, we are receiving very minimal blue responses if at all. I just want to know two things: one, are you working on this issue and a way to fix it, and two, is there a simple hot-fix we can apply to stop this until it is patched out?

Hello Juandisimo,

The big issue is that I run the game on three very different Macs and have had one 2 second lag in Isle of Conquest and that's it. If it was an issue on all of the mac side I would jump on the bandwagon and start asking the developers as to what was going on, since I do BG's all the time and lag is the difference between winning and losing. So I am trying to figure out some type of patter with all of this.

One thing I am trying to find out is, like with any other patch we have ever had, have you already deleted your Cache Æ’older ? Old temp files and new patch data don't sync and cause lag. Also Have you removed the WTF and Interface Æ’olders yet to test any 3rd party issues like we are seeing with AVR:

AVR Mod Broken in 3.3.5

Any old 3rd party AddOns can cause issues.

Hello Tulok,

Q u o t e:
rebooted with NO addons

If you didn't remove the whole Interface Æ’older, and still have 3rd party AddOns, the above action is not enough. It's like disabling a security program, the ability should have never been invented.

Also during the spike, can you grab a trace route please:

1. log into the game
2. put it in window mode Command + M
3. go to your Macintosh HD=>Applications=>Utilities=>Network Utility.app
4. select the Netstat tab (• Display the state of all current socket connections)
5. click on the Netstat button on the right (wait a bit)
6. find the first foreign address that says battlenet:

Q u o t e:
Active Internet connections (including servers)
Proto Recv-Q Send-Q Local Address Foreign Address (state)
tcp4 0 0 my-imac.corp.b.xxxxx 206.17.111.7.battlenet ESTABLISHED

7. copy the foreign address in front of the one that has battlenet on it (ie. 206.17.111.7)
8. select the Traceroute tab
9. paste the address into the box/window
10. click on the Trace button on the right
11. copy the data
12. reply to my/our post and paste that info, please

Hello Tulok,

Since the BG's are on a different server, I'm really curious if you can get that trace route, just to see if it's something on our end or a break down in the network connection somewhere.

I'm out for the day, but I'll be in rather early tomorrow morning.

I am trying to compile a useful list of information and specs to pass along, and thus far, this thread has too much "Me Too!" and not enough meat & potatoes. There are some crucial tidbits that we'll need in order to test this thoroughly.

If you do not post specs, your post will be deleted. If you want useful assistance, you must provide useful information.

Things to include:

1. Specs of your system. Steps to do this are found here:

Mac Video Card Options

If you don't post your specs, we can't make sure we're testing every possible permutation.

2. The flavor of OSX you're running. You can find that out by clicking the Apple -> About this Mac. Specifics count here. You can't just say "Snow Leopard" or "10.6." If you say something like that, you're likely going to get an answer of "Update your OS."

3. Where are the problems actually occurring? What Battleground/Zone/Area?

We need to know this so we can test to the best effect.

All knowledge is worth having.

As far as I know (my weekend is We/Th) I don't think we've made any progress. I'll bring it up again today.
