2.1 is leaving a bad taste in my mouth....

When the 2.1 patch notes were released, even as I read that my class was being suitably buffed by about 5 points and being nerfed in only 2 (signifigant as they are), an erie fear washed over me as I read them.

We've got hundreds of people banned, probably a similar amount of posts deleted in this time, and all pointing towards a similar end: 2.1 is killing people inside. A very imperical tone has washed over the forum, and many more people than usual are opting into the "unable to adapt" category.

Any post pointing out the obvious inbalances of the patch, and the neglect of serious issues in favor of un-needed nerfs and "spotlight moving" has done something never done before in respect to blizzard: made me doubt their balance team. A company that made starcraft cant bring that magnificent sense of order to their new favored son?

The "sad truth crits blizzard for 9K" post that got locked was locked with a scant sentance that seemed to not even correspond with the thread in general (ending ironicaly, come to think of it). The shaman and priest forums mass bannings and warnings due to furious users whos class/spec got either nerfed into oblivion, or pigeon hole'd to one spec were an atrocity, and it should never have come to that. While its true that there usualy is one PvE spec, one PvP spec, and one Raid spec.... some classes seem to be able to have their cake and eat it too.

I'm saddened by all this. I used to have a decent time navigating through all the jibber jabber of the "end of the world" posts, but this time its far more difficult. Between the obvious over buffing and gift giving to some classes and the continued ingoring of promised future fixes... the taste is sour indeed.

Q u o t e:

The creators of warcraft I, II, III (and diablo, starcraft) left when Vivendi bought out Blizzard, right? I think that right there explains why the game has been going downhill since.

This is a very inaccurate statement as we've corrected many times before. There are many here that have been here for the start (including founders) and are still very involved in everything Blizzard does.

Feedback is very much looked at and weighed into what changes are made. If people don't test and give feedback on the new patch, things that they may be upset about will get overlooked versus looked into. As always, we don't guarantee that we are going to agree with all the feedback given but it is definitely looked at and considered in the overall direction of the game.
