Now I suddenly had the idea along the lines off: Each time your Imolate deals damage ( ticks) your chance to get a critical strike with Incinerate and Conflagerate by 2/4/6/8/10%. Also reduces the chance your Immolate spell will be despelled by 20/40/60/80/100%.

Any toughts on this, would it be too overpowerd or too weak ?

The free character migration to allow players on Molten Core, Shadowmoon, Stonemaul and Warsong to join larger realm communities has been opened. The destination realms for each are the following:

Molten Core --gt; Burning Steppes, Deathwing, Dentarg
Shadowmoon --gt; Boulderfist, Spinebreaker, Xavius
Stonemaul --gt; Ahn\'Qiraj, Burning Blade, Jaedenar
Warsong --gt; Auchindoun, Bladefist, Haomarush

Note that each source realm has a destination realm in the same Battlegroup, underlined above.

These migrations will remain open until further notice, and at least until the release of the next patch. When the migration closes, remaining characters will be automatically transferred to the one of their destination realms with the lowest population.

If you have any questions concerning the closing of these realms, or the related migrations, please feel free to post them below and we\'ll do our very best to answer them. To make sure questions and answers are easier to find, any unrelated posts will be deleted from the thread.

While arguments can be made for other realms, we felt these were the ones providing the best options overall.

Q: Couldn\'t you just have merged the four realms?
A: Even with merging the four realms the resulting population would be well below that of other realms, thus while it was looked at it was not considered a viable option.

Q: Can\'t you open free migration to all other realms?
A: We wish to make it an easier transition for players to move to a new realm by seeing at least some familiar player and guild names around, plus make sure it\'s easier for guilds and friends to easily agree on a realm and make sure everybody goes to the same realm. We also don\'t wish to stop this specific migration prematurely, hence we\'ve picked realms that all can fit the entire population of any source realm. Additionally, there are technical limitations on the number of migrations we can have set up at one time.

No offence,but this is kinda wrong.Karazhan needs players,why aren\'t we on the to migrate list?It would be nice if we get a blue to respond please.

We won\'t go into the details of each realm, but a general response was added in the second post in this thread.

Btw, I noticed a post in the original thread said Shadowmoon had lots of Alliance (1500) and no Horde, which is a good illustration of how 3rd party numbers are often completely wrong or misleading; Shadowmoon was and is still Horde dominated when looking at players online at any point during the day. ;-)

Slighty off-topic, but when will these realms be re-opened? When Wrath is released, or before/afterwards? Sorry if it\'s too early to say, I\'m just curious and I know a lot of other people are too.

There\'s no requirement to change the account to Russian-only to move characters to the Russian-language realms. You can keep your account as European, and have characters on both Russian and English realms.

I have asked in the forum before the destination was posted about Shadowmoon --gt; Jeadenar or Hoamarush, but now Warsong get Hoamarush and Stonemaul get Jeadenar. Why?

As explained in the second post in this thread there were many considerations adding up to these choices for each realm. Posts requesting one or the other are never taken into consideration, however, as they generally represent the wishes of single individuals or smaller groups.

I\'m just wondering, how are the transfers going. Did a lot of people allready switched realms or are they still on their original ones?

A lot (several thousands) already moved to new realms. We suspect a new wave of migrations might come after this week\'s maintenance, when people have had a chance to discuss through the week and then wait for their Arena points.


Why didn\'t you then take into consideration something that was definitely NOT a smaller group wish - that is to give that small number of people one low-pop realm to go to, instead of moving them to 9 different realms?

We saw posts about it, and it was indeed taken into consideration. That we don\'t agree with you doesn\'t mean we don\'t listen to you.

Moving all four realms\' population to the same destination could have caused the migration to be forced closed prematurely. While merging the four would have created a very low population realm, that doesn\'t mean they wouldn\'t flood another realm if they all moved to the same one.

There\'s also the limitation of migration not working if you already have a character of the other faction, and some might even have characters on different factions on the source realms. I wouldn\'t expect that restriction to apply during the automatic move of lingering characters at the end of migration, but we don\'t lift it during player-controlled migration.


My little brother is facing problems to connect to Spinebreaker since yesterday, 03-08-2008. He plays from Brazil and I play from Switzerland.

However, he is able to play on realm Karazhan without any issues. What is funny is that he started to have this problems exactly when the migration to Spinebreaker started.

Can you please help me find out the problem?

Hello GM. I have 1 question. Tomorrow Wednesday 10 september Molten Core be closed or no? Because tomorrow i take points and take brutal weapon. And I need know this. You write realms be closed after release patch, but if patch release blizzards warn for a week earlier.

Update: These four realms will be closed shortly after the next patch is launched.

Stonemaul
Warsong

Update: Please note that a date has not yet been set in regards to when these realms will be closed, but we will update you as soon as a suitable date has been decided.

Free Character Migration
Free character migration will be active from the above realms to different destination realms. This migration will open next week and remain open for some time even after the realms have been closed.
The destination realms for each source realm will be given when the migration opens.

The exact time of closing these migrations will be decided at a later time. When the migration closes, remaining characters will be automatically transferred to the one of their two destination realm with the lowest population.

Paid Character Transfers and other migration [Updated]
Players wishing to use the Paid Character Transfer service to go to another realm than those above may of course do so. All the above realms also have migration available to Russian realms until that option closes on September 9th (as per our previous announcement).

Blizzard, PLEASE, spare 1 of those realms for an additional beta realm. It would be like a breath of fresh air for all of us beta testers.

Beta realms and live realms are not interchangeable like that.


A friend of mine paid and transfered his character 2 warsong, will he be able 2 transfer again even though he has 2 months left berfore he can transfer that character again?

Free Character Migration is not affected by the Paid Character Transfer cooldown, so yes, he will.


Does that mean we will have 4 brand new and shiny realms for the Wrath of the Lich King launch?

It means the realm hardware will be ready if needed.


I would ask if free transfer is possible from STONEMAUL to SKULLCRUSHER.

The destination realms will be based on population data.

Unfortunately not. Even with the population of these four realms merged into a single realm, that realm would have been the lowest populated realm.

Regretfully, as the migration does not carry guild information over, the guild bank slots will need to be re-purchased on the destination realm.

Does blizzard realise that this is happening to the karazhan realm too?

The impact on Karazhan and other realms has been minimal, as Russian players mainly played on those four realms listed here. That does not mean we\'re not aware of other population and faction concerns, only that they\'re not part of this particular scenario.


Will the migration take into account existing faction balance (or lack thereof) on destination realm, as in, will horde and alliance players on any of the realms shutting down be looking at the same transfer options, or will you micro-manage it to preserve/create faction balance on target realms?

Faction balance will be taken into account when choosing destination realms. However, there will be no faction restrictions on the migrations. Most likely destination realms have the same faction ratio, and due to the low population on the source realms the faction rations are unlikely to be impacted much.


What can those people do who does not want to migrate to Russian realms, they can\'t stay on stonemaul correct? but is there any way they can transfer their toons to english speaking realms without paying?

They\'ll be able to move to select English destination realms for free once the Free Character Migration opens later this week.

This thread is not about or related to the Ruin Battlegroup. However, as before, Ruin is currently the Battlegroup where new realms will be added when the population on existing realms warrants opening more.

So, to transfer to another server you need to buy an additional client + normal paid character transfer.

There\'s no need to buy a new client. You can download a language pack which when installed with be an integral part of your WoW client. You can choose the language from the WoW launcher.

You will need to patch twice though - once per language - if you wish to continue to use both.

The policy prevents people not living in Austria, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, UK, Norway, Sweden, Greece, Ireland, Belgium, Spain, Russia, Ukraine, Latvia, Lithuania and Belgium from using the service.

There are many players on EU servers that do not live in the above countries and have friends to recruit. These new recruits will pay montly fees or buy game cards just like any other player. There is no technical reason to discriminate based on country. We all pay, connect to same servers, and long distances may on have a bit of lag.

In fact recruting brings in more revenue for the company, regardless of where people live.

Blizzard, this is discrimination at the best and rather disgusting from a large internaltional organsiation. What next, are they going to discriminate against skin colour, then race what about relgion?]]>
