Heya,

I think i have this problem for a while now actually since 2.3 came out so it is pretty annoying.
There have been lots of topics and posts on forum but ive never seen a blue came up with a solution that helps.
If this many people have this problem why blizzard wont put there full attention too this so other people can play the game again.
I just have to play wow for 5 mins and it crashes.
It makes a screech like sound and then it repeats that sound over and over again.
And i need to give my pc a hard reboot.
I really like the fact that other players are trying to help out and give up a little of their time for people with this problem. =)
But, its really taking to long.
Actually i dont have this problem @ wow only UT3 has the same crash too.
Already mailed them too but no response.
Maybe someone has a solution for this ''never-ending'' problem?

Sincerely,

Lueer

Hi,

This is likely to a hardware lock, hence the looping sound which is the last thing your computer was processing before it locked up.

Hard locks are difficult to locate as there are many factors that could be to blame.

- Overheating hardware (Motherboard, Memory, Graphic Card, CPU)
- Insufficient Power Supply
- Driver or Hardware conflict

First of all make sure you have all the available updates for your motherboard
http://eu.blizzard.com/support/article.xml?articleId=22630#mobo

If the problem still persists, please try running the game without sound. Instructions can be found below:

- Open the World of Warcraft folder on your hard drive (Default Folder: C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft).
- Open the WTF folder.
- Open the Config.wtf file using a text editor, like WordPad.

If you do not see any of the lines below you can add them manually.

* No Sound:
SET Sound_EnableAllSound "0"

OpenGL Mode may help if no sound does not:
SET gxAPI "OpenGL"

You can also try running the game in a window by adding:
SET gxWindow "1"
