Where have all the stickies gone?

The stickies have been unstickied primarily because most of them were either partially or completely outdated due to the release of the recent patch.

Some of the stickies however were just old, but not necessarily outdated, and they were removed because we wanted to clean up the clutter of sticky threads that were dominating the first page of each class forum.

We apologise that we did not warn you about this, but we felt that unstickying the stickies without prior warning was the best approach for cleaning up the forums in an efficient manner… Basically this should be considered a fresh start for everybody.

All this does not mean that we will not sticky useful class guides, talent builds, etc., but in the future we would like to have fewer sticky threads (in the class forums.) We would like to see more of the above mentioned types of threads updated and compiled into single threads, so that we do not have multiple sticky threads containing similar information. Here is an example of what we would like to see:
  • Only 1 thread for talent builds and class guides.

  • Only 1 thread containing how-to-play, how-to-kill and how-to-solo guides.

  • Only 1 thread for class specific quests guides.

  • Only 1 thread for TheoryCraft and math related information.

How this is done is basically up to you, but here is a little “guide” of what you could do if you find that there is a sticky thread containing information that you would like to add something to:
  • Contact the player who made the sticky thread and ask him/her to insert the information you would like to have added.

  • Create a new thread that contains your information alongside the information from the sticky thread that already exists, and then report the thread to have it stickied so that it can replace the already existing sticky thread.

  • Create and report a thread containing a link to a wiki site or something similar, where everybody can add information and guides freely as much as they want, thus reducing the need for updating or replacing sticky threads on these forums.
