What criteria used to delete posts?

Hi, I was wondering, what criteria do you, Blizzard forum moderators, use to delete threads in realm forums? I wrote some stories on my rp realm forums about a month back, and have not been able to add much in the meantime. I finally got time to write something new and went looking for my story thread only to find that it was gone.

It had only got to pg 2, I recognised the threads that had been with it at that time, so I was wondering, why did you choose to delete it? It wasn't much, but it was mine and I was proud of it.

You leave locked threads, spam threads, finished topics, so why did you choose my poor little tale to delete?

Hey Alysanna,

First of all, we don't typically handle questions about moderation on the forums. For such inquiries, please use the community webform found here: https://www.wow-europe.com/community/webform/index.html

That said, to answer your question of what are common reasons for a thread being deleted, here are a few examples:

* The first post has already been deleted.
* The thread contains a lot of abusive posts that we would prefer to not remain on the forums in any form, even locked.
* The thread is old enough to where bumping it up without a valid reason is considered thread necromancy.
* The thread contains a large amount of links to malicious 3rd party websites.

Generally, we may also end up deleting some threads if there is an overwhelming amount of locked threads on the same page, as to "clean the forum up".

Hope this gives some insight :)

Locking this.
