Website for realm

Tsukiyo

Hi there,

I'm Tsukiyo from Kazzak realm and I am currently building a pvp community website for our realm. So far it has had some succes but I am no web designer or anything and am stuck with a problem atm. Hopefully someone can help me out!

Here is the thing. I would want to add a "update news section" to the homepage, which I can just use to put up updates. Like some sort of posting section.

MMO-champion uses it for example. Just so I can add news daily without having to go to my web program, add it there and load it up on the webserver again. Just by login into the site or something, typing my post there, I press "post" and it should come up on the homepage as new update.

Sorry for the bad explanation, but dunno how to say it else :S

My problem is that I wanna learn how to do that, but I don't know what to search after :(

If anyone could just point me in the right direction it would be good!

Thanks in advance!

Tsukiyo

There are a number of free CMS (content management systems) that you can use for this purpose. If you prefer CMS software that integrates with forum packages like vBulletin, IP or SMF, then perhaps you could look at Joomla, Drupal, vB Advance, or any other similar package. If you are looking for simple blog/news posting system, then perhaps one of the free hosts, or setting up Wordpress is more your type of deal.

Both methods would allow you to simply log in and 'post news', as it were :]
