(Update 17/12) 12/12 Free character migration
| by Thundgot | 12/12/2007 15:07:14 Due to population differences between some of the highest and lowest populated PvP realms, the following Free Character Migration will be available December 12th to 18th: From: Al'Akir, Burning Legion, Magtheridon, Shadowmoon, Stormscale To: Burning Blade, Jaedenar, Mazrigos, Spinebreaker Additionally, to alleviate queues on Stonemaul and Warsong we have opened a new realm and free character migration from (currently only) those two realms to this new one. This migration is planned for the same dates as above. The name of the new realm is Molten Core, and it’s in the Nightfall Battlegroup. Character creation on the realm will be disabled during the migration, except for those having a character there. From: Stonemaul, Warsong To: Molten Core (new realm) - will be closed at 10:00 CET on Dec 15th Please note that the migration may be closed at any time should a destination realm's population rise too high. The early opening was a simple and honest mistake. The intended opening of the realm came pretty much at the same time as the forum post. But please keep this thread on the topic of the migration. If you wish to discuss new realms, there are other threads for that. |

Free migration is not affected by PCT cool-down, and will not trigger a cool-down. |

While I don't have the numbers available right now, I expect pretty much everybody who migrated are online tonight, and will be for the weekend. Still, the turnout was indeed higher than expected in the first few days, and this is why the migration will be closed tomorrow morning. We didn't want to shut it in the face of people with no notice though. |

Hardly the entire realm, but a significant portion. ;-) However, rather than shutting the migration in the players' face, splitting up guilds and friends, we decided to give them an end time and then see how it turned out. Turned out to be a little more than desired, and we're giving the opportunity to even it out. I think that's much better than slamming the door shut on people. Edit: bad English. It's late... :-p |
