If I paid for a transfer to a different realm, that already has a low level character with the same name, that has not updated in the armory since last year, will I still be made to change my level 80's name, even though I log her almost every day?

If the name is taken on the new realm, you will be forced to change.

You can submit a ticket and we will have a look into it for you, but please note that it is extremely rare for us to change another players name in these situations.
