Solwin

This is a thread ill update for people to read based on what i pull from other threads.

Status: Sign ups open, Servers Not Live

What we Know:

1. Advertised as 6 weeks - 2 weeks practice, 4 weeks live comp.
2. Invoices received say 5 weeks 1 Day
3. Invoices state today being a day of play, as its being charged for.
4. Tourney information says the tournament goes live on the 25th (impying practice should have started last wednesday)
5. Help & support said to log out and in compeltely to see teh arena servers - this doesnt work.

It's seems as if things should be working atm, but something has delayed it (imo) - but lack of input from GM's and conflicted blue posts on other forums that people are referencing is causing confusion - please post any updates you have or questions.

Edit -------------------------------------------

Pulled direct from this page : http://www.wow-europe.com/en/info/basics/arena/tournament/rules.html

1. The Qualification Round of the Tournament. The Qualification Round of the Tournament shall last for approximately six weeks, and will commence approximately on February 25, 2009 at approximately 10:00 AM, Central European Time (9:00 AM GMT) (subject to ‘Server Maintenance’ to be performed by Sponsor), and end on April 7, 2009 at 9:00 PM Central European Time (8:00 PM GMT)

Perhaps the invoice was wrong?

Just a quick check on the points:
1. Correct.
2. That's the sign-up dates, not the qualifier dates. Unfortunately that's not really clear in the e-mail, hence this misunderstanding.
3. The payment is for access to the qualifier, which starts on February 25th and lasts until April 7th - a 6 week period.
4. The two weeks of practice are the first two weeks of the 6 week qualifier.
5. This should work once the Arena Tournament realms are live, should you have started the client prior to the realms going live and not restarted it since.

Q u o t e:
Thundgot just stop posting, all your post so far has been fail.

You keep saying that it will go online the 25, even thought our legal document says 17th, like a million people thought it was today, which means somewhere you people must have implied it started today.

So if its 25th, then come with some kind of apology and some kind of solution.

Which legal document are you referring to?

The legal rules state the 25th: http://www.wow-europe.com/en/info/basics/arena/tournament/rules.html

Q u o t e:
3. Tournament Period.
The Tournament shall commence on the start of the Qualification Round of the Tournament, which shall be at approximately 10:00 AM Central European Time (9:00 AM GMT) February 25, 2009 (the “Commencement Date”), and shall continue through the end of the Arena Tournament Finals, which is expected to conclude on or about July, 2009.

The FAQ (not fully updated) states february: http://www.wow-europe.com/en/info/basics/arena/tournament/faq.xml

Q u o t e:
When will the tournament start?
We are looking at February of 2009 for the beginning of the online qualifier, but will have registration for the tournament available beforehand. We will announce more details on the Arena Tournament website.

The e-mail lists the dates of the sign-up, unfortunately without stating that clearly. It does not explicitly state that those dates are the tournament dates, but it's of course a natural assumption.

Q u o t e:
Tournament Type: 3v3 Match
Dates: 17/02/2009 to 25/03/2009

While you may want to demand access now based on the e-mail, would you then also want us to shut down your access on March 25th, like the e-mail says? That would give you a week less than everybody else, and not give you much chance of actually qualifying.

Q u o t e:
Not quite true, you would have to refund the money or extend the dates for a further week since you clearly stated that we were going to be able to play for 6 weeks. Just changing a contract after the transaction won't work even if you're on the stronger side

And you will be able to play for 6 weeks, starting February 25th. Those dates are already in the rules which people should have read before even signing up. Those are the rules agreed to before payment was made.

The confusion stemmed from the dates listed in the e-mail, which were unspecific. To claim they supersede the legal rules agreed to before sign-up and payment is stretching it though. But we're moving into legal territory, which is not something to handle on the forums.
