According to the code of conduct and forum guidelines, thread bumping is a violation, however that's often the only way to draw attention to advertisements in the Looking for Alliance / Horde forums as well as in realm forums, and bumping in those places seems to have become rather standard.

My questions are:

1 - Can a player be banned for bumping advertisement threads (of in-game stuff, obviously) in those forums?

2 - Between bumping and reposting in those forums, which one is the least offending?

It is true the thread bumping is frowned upon, and we do take action if we see excessive bumping in threads. If the majority of posts in a thread consist of bumps, then we will lock said thread.

It should be said however, that we do not mind the occasional bump in recruitment threads. The occasional bump in a recruitment thread is always preferred over multiple recruitment threads for the same guild.

If you feel that you must bump a thread, try to at least include some sort of update as well :-)
