Tanking and Blacksmithing issue
| by Galiant | 23/01/2007 15:50:17 Hello there. I'm in a bit of a pickle. Here's the situation! I'm a tank, currently levelling a Blood Elf Paladin with the intent of tanking. I've been pondering for a long time now whether to choose armorsmith, swordsmith or hammersmith once I reach the proper skill level. Axesmith is out of the question for my part. So my question is, are the weapons any good for a tank or should I aim for the breastplate with the extra tanking utility? Armorsmith: Bulwark of the Ancient Kings (rank III) http://www.thottbot.com/?i=55003 My thoughts on this is that even though the "use" function is great, I dont' know how long the cooldown is and using a chestplate will use up a slot I could be using for future sets. Weaponsmith (hammersmith): The Red Hand of Inevitability/Dragonstrike (rank III) http://www.thottbot.com/?i=56678 Slow, and hard hitting. With reckoning, this weapon will let me gather large amounts of threat. But a miss/dodge/parry could be dire, as the weapon speed is slow and that means I'll lag behind the DPS in threat-generation. Nice chance on hit that might make up for the slow weapon speed. Weaponsmith (swordsmith): Blazefury (rank III) http://www.thottbot.com/?i=56677 Faster but weaker. Seal of Righteousness proc's will not hit as hard but a dodge/miss/parry will be affordable as the weapon is fast enough to recover. The stats are slightly higher than the above mace, as well - with the added agility. It does look more like a rogue's weapon to me, though. Any help would be greatly appreciated. |
