Is there any way to actually get the chance of having a civilized conversation with one of you?
Just wondering since I'd very much like to speak to one and be sure to get the attention :o

There, I don't feel like writing anything there. If I wrote "here", then it's a bloody amusing typo. :D

Indeed. ;-)

Q u o t e:
I realise the need for moderation on the forums, but not like this, not like what we've seen lately.

Just to give a general comment, and maybe save some the effort of spamming our web form. ;-)

The forum guidelines are set down to ensure consistent moderation of the forums (part of it being that we normally only check realm forums when someone reports something), and ensuring that as many as possible find the forums welcoming and helpful. While this may turn out negatively for some sub-forum communities that enjoy e.g. colourful language and spam in the form of banter and chit-chat still doesn't mean we can make special rules for them, nor will we make exceptions for individuals because the vocal part of a community supports him or her. In fact, if you check the forum guidelines I linked in a different thread, we handle realm forums more strictly because they have this tendency to get dominated by a vocal group.

In this particular case it seems to simply be a matter of people refusing to accept that some of the threads were simply spam, and were thus closed. After reporting spam, one individual getting the n'th suspension finally making it a permanent ban, and people start acting as if they're fighting a terrible 1984 dictatorship of epic proportions. Some even made a sport out of dodging suspensions with multiple accounts and poking fun at the moderators this way. It shouldn't take much thinking to understand that this is not appreciated.

Anybody banned is welcome to contact us to appeal, but others using the forums to take jabs at moderators, and spam the same topic over and over, is simply not the appropriate way to go about it. It's also a violation of the forum guidelines, and will be handled accordingly.

As posted earlier, feedback about the forums and how they are handled is appreciated, but through the web form. Someone's suspension or ban is between that person and us though, and the forum guidelines are - and will remain - the same for everyone.

Edit: typos
