Serious problem with Blizzard
by Akiyatsu | 13/08/2008 01:48:27![]() So, a real life friend of mine, whom ive been playing wow with for almost 3 years solid, had his account hacked. He logged on in the morning to find gold and items gone. Ok, so its bad but nothing to cry over, blizzard can sort things out. He does the right thing, changes password and informs Blizzard right away. What happens next, worrys me, his account has now been permanently banned. Blizzards explanation; his account was involved in prohibited in game activities. How can Blizzard claim this? Can they not tell his account was used without his permission, that the IP was not the one he has logged on with day after day? That is was not him, deleting items/transfering gold. Attempts to contact and get a helpful reply from Support have been fruitless. So i ask you, what would you do? What can my friend do? He has been a paying customer for 3 years. Whats more, does this mean this can happen to anyone whos account is hacked/stolen? Can any one of us have our entire account permanently banned, through next to no fault of our own? Please if anyone has had this happen to them, if they can share what they did, and if it was resolved successfully, any help would be much appreciated. Blizzard is far from perfect, the game is excellent even if it has many problems, these things i can ignore or work around. But this is something else, they dont seem to care at all for their customers, and it seems to me anyone could lose their account at any time, with no chance of getting it back. This for me is completely unacceptable, and filthy business practise. £324 spent over the years, is this worth nothing to Blizzard? |
