Scarecrow's Night [RP Event, Argent Dawn]

It’s like a slightly burnt cookie - ugly, dark and questionable on the outside, but soft and warm on the inside. That’s all the event is about. People dress in mysterious outfits, and give themselves a theathratical role to act out during the night - like werewolf, rosedemon, knight of idiotic deaths and so on. But the event isn’t a gathering of a real cult of darkness - instead, under all that spooky stuff it’s a real kid party - jokes are tossed and childish games are played! ”But that’s so silly, to mock the death and all”, huh? Haha! Well of course. Laugh at what’s scary and it will go away. When I was a boy, I was told the concept of the event originates from the nomadic times of humankind as a means to embolden the heart in the face of overwhelming adversity. I don’t know what the event could have been called back then, but in our time it’s mostly known as the ‘Scarecrow’s Night’, which I think is quite fitting. The event hasn’t been held for a few years now though, so it’s no wonder really you haven’t heard about it - I wonder who could be reviving it. Not that I mind though!”

Like has been said, under the spooky cover the playful side lingers. There will be a couple of games, both easy and which are often played by the younglings all across Azeroth.
Line up into 2 (or more) teams that have the same amount of participants. The first person in each team is given a ball. Once the game begins, he must pass the ball to the person behind him, who then passes the ball to the person behind himself. The first team to get the ball all the way to the last person in the line is the winner.
Players are in a circle. They pass the ball to each other, trying not to hold it for a long time in their hands. In the background a song is being sung. Then after the signal (a specific word or phrase) the player who has a ball in his hands is out of the game. -----------------------

Throughout the evening the organisers will keep an eye open for those who really bring atmosphere to the night by being true to their “role of the night” (more information under Practical Details). Are you the most successful romantic yeti-man? Or the most ridiculously pathetic clown of death? Both the person’s costume and the way he/she plays the chosen role is taken into consideration when deciding the best scarecrow of the year! The winner will be awarded by one of the Stormwind City Artists and will receive a free sketch bust portrait of him-/herself! ----------------------- PRACTICAL DETAILS: Dress code: Anything mysterious, spooky or something so odd but viciously fitting it's pure art. When and Where? 15th September, Official Start at 20:00 o’clock, in Darkshire Please arrive unflagged. The event will begin in the Town Hall of Darkshire. When you turn up, you will be asked what your 'event role' is by the doorway. (What does this mean? That your character "roleplays" for fun!) Your 'rolename', for example 'Prince of Darkness,' will be announced out loud when you enter the meeting hall of the building! However, you do not necessarily have to have a role to participate the event. Also remember that 'playing your role' (for example the werewolf) doesn't right you to bring serious harm to other people. About Costume/Role contest prize: You will really receive a digital drawing made of 1 character of your choice! If, for example, your Main is a Horde character, yet your Alt wins the contest, you may still request your Horde character to be drawn! The picture will be a black&white shaded bust portrait. ----------------------- . Reminder: Please gather in Darkshire around 19:30! At 19:30 people will be asked to line up in front of the Town Hall/Clock tower and we will start letting people enter the building one by one/pair by pair. Don't forget your rolename home! .
