Religion in the 21th century
by Vèspa | 28/07/2010 16:19:17![]() I was having a conversation the other day with a classmate of mine about religion. He goes to church every Sunday, prays to god before dinner (thanking him) and reads the Bible. Nothing wrong with all of this ofcourse, I respect all people and their believes. It does however made me wonder what motivation people have in this period of time to actually "believe" in a supernatural being, in a heaven and hell, and in stories that God created the earth. Im sure you already have the impression; I'm not a "believer" myself. I dont believe in everything mentioned above and, well, i'm having a hard time understanding how other could. In a century of Science, in wich there are plausible and scientific underlayed explanations why it rains, how the Earth got to be and even how life itself forms, how is it possible that people ( in the Western world, not folks on a mountain top or Savana hut somewhere) are still believing these old stories and "myths"? |
