Bought a new account at the start of this year. I got the CD key to my email, I stored it in my WoW map and deleted the email (saftey). But the problem is that my comp stopped working and I had to re-format my pc. This was long time ago. But now im beginning to think that it would be a good idea to get a hold of my cd key again for saftey reasons ofc if I get hacked etc. Will it be a problem to get a new CD key for my original WoW not the X-pacs? I have all the info needed to verify im the original owner of my account.

Submitting a digital copy of a nationally accepted photo ID such as passport or driver's license matching the registered real name on the account can be substituted when the secret answer/authentication key combination is requested. Make sure you have one available, and you should be fine. :)
