Low FPS 8600GT

My specification is:
GeForce 8600GT 256 MB DDR3 GIGABYTE
2 GB RAM GEIL
Celeron 2.53 GHz
2 Mb broadband Internet connection

In 25-man raids: unplayable due to extremely low FPS.
In 5-man instances: 10-20 FPS.
In Shattrath: FPS varies between 1 and 8 maybe 11 after 02:00 AM when people go offline.
In Orgrimmar: See Shattrath.
In world: average of 38-30 FPS.

It does not matter if the video settings are set to highest or lowest possible level I always get same FPS.

I tried reformatting drive and fresh install.
I tried defragmenting.
I tried different drivers and the OMEGA drivers seem to improve my FPS by 5-10 roughly but the difference between having 8 and 15 FPS is not really that noticeable. :S

My other bets are:
Power source: Having 400 watt power source while the graphics card producer recommends 450 watt.
CPU: Seem to be the weakest of all components even though it's above WoW recommended CPU.

Any help?

Hi,

The CPU is very likely restricting the card to some degree and will be a bottleneck, the PSU could also be a problem if it's only a 400 watt, that is of course depending what the amp rating is on the +12 volt rail

A 8600GT requires at least 22 amps so it's possible your 400 watt PSU will be enough providing it can provided a needed power output which is stable.
