Knock back solution (Non sarcastic)

Many people will agree that knock backs are the worst thing to have ever happened to PVP. The spells in question are Typhoon, Thunderstorm, and to a lesser extent (but still included) Blast Wave.

This is not due to the classes not needing these abilities (Although for mages it is questionable), it is due to the abuse and grief which can easily be caused by these abilities. You'll notice with the Thunderstorm tool tip that it claims to knock people back 20 yards. Personally I have always been knocked back more.

My idea is that instead of knock backs causing people to fly back uncontrollably, they cause the player to stumble and roll back x amount. Of course in the case of the Shaman 20 yards is already set.

But in addition to this change, when the player reaches an edge, they stop and get up, or are stunned/incapacitated for the duration in which they would have otherwise been being knocked back.

An example scenario:

Q u o t e:
At lumber mill a druid is stealthing and waiting to knock someone off. Someone starts trying to capture the flag.

Currently the turn of events would involve the player flying through the air to their doom, while said druid lols to himself.

With this proposed change, the player would go rolling back until they come to the edge, and then just save themselves from going over. (Possibly grabbing onto some grass, branches or rocks?)

With fear and blind, afflicted characters somehow know not to wander or run in fear off a cliff. If you use your imagination the blinded player could be feeling trying to orientate them self, and knowing of the edge.

This change would make battlegrounds far more pleasant for everybody. Other players will not become frustrated by an overpowered mechanic, and the classes with them will retain this form of crowd control, and way to keep people away from themselves.

Although Druids and Shaman will have to use it more intelligently (and to a lesser extent fire mages). I am sure Shaman players can manage that at least.

This is an amicable solution for a problem in which the offending classes pretty much still keep their abilities as they should have been intended.

Basically:
I don't mind being knocked back 20 yards, as long as I don't go off an edge and possibly die.
I am sure almost all players will agree that Elemental Shaman and Balance Druids need this ability, but not in the way it is currently implemented.
Mages however, I would argue do not even need the option because they have so many other ways to control (But this is for another topic!)
