[Guide] How to make a ticket

Loknaroshe

Recently it seems we have some new people to World of Wacraft who are still not 100% sure on how to make a ticket. So I took a quick couple of screen caps, stuck them on a site, and will go through them to hopefully help our newer members out.

Step 1: http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b264/Rkiver/Tickets/Setp1.png
Click
on the red question mark (?) icon on your taskbar.

Step 2: http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b264/Rkiver/Tickets/Step2.png
Check
if your problem is already known in the database. If it's not select open a ticket in the bottom left hand corner.

Step 3: http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b264/Rkiver/Tickets/Step3.png
Read down through the new screen that appears, is your problem Game, Meta-Game or PvP, odds are it's not something that you will get assistance with. If it's not however, select "Issues that GMs can assist with".

Step 4: http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b264/Rkiver/Tickets/Step4.png
Now which area best suits your ticket? Don't just pick any at random, pick the right one. For this I'll be choosing stuck as an example.

Step 5: http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b264/Rkiver/Tickets/Step5.png
So I'm stuck, oh look an auto-unstuck feature. I'll try that first. Nope, it didn't work though. Time to page a GM.

Step 6: http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b264/Rkiver/Tickets/Step6.png
In here fill out as much information as you can. Not one word, or help me. The more information you give the better the GMs can help you.

Well that's it, a quick easy guide to how to make a ticket. I hope it helps our newer players.

Edit: If you have addons that stop you seeing the usual question mark thanks you can also use the script commands /script ShowUIPanel(HelpFrame); HelpFrame_ShowFrame("GMHome");

(Thanks guys, added that so others can use it too).

A low response time for in-game tickets is the number one priority for the GM department, and we will always look to answer players as soon as possible. We are constantly reviewing our support policies an procedures to improve our level of service and efficiency.

As for a write-up on how to write a ticket - I like this idea a lot, and this is something which I will look into putting up Soon™

With Loknarosh's permission I would be more than happy to do this. I do not want to go around editing his hard work without his permission, however. :)
