Grimoires and the expansion

How will it work in the expansion, now we can upgrade our spells to a higher rank by getting grimoirs (corruption, shadowward etc.). But come expansion, surely we will be able to train our spells up to this rank and higher anyway, or what? thus making grimoires pretty obsolete.
