Good partner for shaman

Hello all, my friend has recently purchased WoW. And plans to roll a shaman. Now, my highest level shaman is lvl 14, so my knowledge of the class is rather limited. And I was wondering what class would make a good partner for shaman. My main is a warlock, so I am familiar with that class. Would a warlock make a good partner? And if not, wich class would?

I levelled my shaman together with a friend who played hunter, we were seriously imba. But I think as many have already said, that probably any class would work. Combo shaman+paladin sounds interesting!
