Girls with male friends

Munyfurmunt

A woman has a close male friend.

This means that he is probably interested in her, which is why he hangs around so much. She sees him strictly as a friend.
This always starts out with, you're a great guy, but I don't like you in that way.

This is roughly the equivalent for the guy of going to a job interview and the company saying, You have a great resume, you have all the qualifications we are looking for, but we're not going to hire you.
We will, however, use your resume as the basis for comparison for all other applicants.
But, we're going to hire somebody who is far less qualified and is probably an alcoholic.
And if he doesn't work out, we'll hire somebody else, but still not you.
In fact, we will never hire you.
But we will call you from time to time to complain about the person that we hired.

You just got Dave'd!!!!!111!2

Girls don't get in those situations. It just doesn't work like that. Girls are the ones that call the shots with this stuff.

I can't answer for men on how long they would wait in that situation, but I would recommend not waiting at all - also because the best thing you can possibly do to get a girl to want you, is pretend like you don't want her.. ;) (I mean, obviously after making it clear that you DO like her in the first place haha!)

You speak for the entire female population? ..

Oh I see, you like playing games... I will never understand why people see the need to do that. you get much further with openness and honesty. You like someone, you tell them. Well, imHo anyway.. 'games' are for kids.

I crashed and burned far to many times with "openness and honesty" :P

it's when I show balls I get the girl :P

great example is that barchick -> started off with me showing off -> when I started showing feelings ... *craassshh*

Schoon -.-

Guess it depends what type you go for :) To each their own..

No, of course I don't speak for the entire female population, but I speak for the ones that I have known which are many, and they have all been this way.
Unfortunately though, whether you understand it ot not, Schoon is right and you won't have much success with most girls by being open, honest, and 'nice' with them. It doesn't work like that.
It's not about playing games, it's more to do with not showing too much softness because that is a big turn off.
Girls don't want to hear about your emotions (ok, I know I'm generalising again), they want to hear how big and strong you are (no, not literally) and why they should want YOU over all the other guys who are saying the same 'heartfelt' crap to them.
Romance ftl - just be yourself and they'll love you for it without you even having to try. If they don't, nuts to them - someone else will. :)

That just sounds like you found girlfriends who are like you... nothing wrong with your type, I'm just saying there are many different types out there. You're just one of them. And your 'strategy', if you will, I guess would have to depend on what kind of girl you like.

I have known plenty of girls who loved the guy who was just himself in stead of pretending to be someone else.

I don't consider myself big and strong and I like showing my feelings, being myself, as much as I can. The girl doesn't like that, I consider she's not the girl for me..

Erm, different girls dig different things in guys.

Some girls dont like being openly told they are liked, its a turn off. They prefer the whole ''does he doesnt he'' playing around coz it keeps the interest and excitement high.

Other girls hate the games, and would prefer you to be honest from the outset.

See, it swings both ways. And you speak as if you have complete authority on the subject of girls- may i remind you that you are simply a moderator for WoW forums; just because you have different colour writing, doesn't mean you are an expert on anything non-WoW related.

    Peace.

Everyone in here has their own opinion and that's all they will ever be. You give your opinions, I give mine. And I did concede that point in post 52. No need to bash me because I'm blue.. I'm just joining in the conversation. Back off.

As i said earlier - strap on a pair.

The whole ideas around 'courting' is to be confident, if you have the guts to walk up to someone who could be way out of your league, and then don't talk either to her breasts or your shoes, your halfway there.

Oh, and one last thing, a good pair of clean, nice shoes really will get you a long way.

This sounds about right. And what IS with shoes, I've noticed that too.

Confidence ftl though, I suck at it :/
